Product Description

The absorbent cartridge 12217 has been designed to trap radioactive iodine in both molecular and organic forms

(methyl iodine). Designed for pneumatic circuits requiring gamma activity control, it is integrated to radioprotection

devices intended for:

• Measurement of weekly overlapping releases of nuclear reactors in the environment

• Continuous monitoring of gaseous effluents

• Detectors, controllers and sampling monitors with fixed filter.

Cartridge 12217 is a cylindrical capsule in rigid thermoplastic material containing activated charcoal. Faces of the

cartridge come in the form of circular grids through which air is filtered. Pressure drop in line filtering is negligible and

has no influence on the controlled circuit flow rate. These features allow a high trapping efficiency of iodine,

for a wide temperature and humidity range.
